TU Dublin has announced that funding has been secured via the HEA’s Springboard+ upskilling initiative for over 100 places across a range of postgraduate (Level 9) and undergraduate (Level 8) construction-related programmes.

All programmes offer free fees for returners, the unemployed, or formerly self employed with employed participants paying only 10% of the standard programme fee.

Level 8, 1-year add-on designed to meet the upskilling needs of Level 7 (ordinary degree) award holders and of holders of Level 6 qualifications (including craft certificates) who have relevant industry experience. This programme will equip graduates with the skills necessary to take up roles as BIM Modellers, Technicians, and Coordinators with consultants, contractors, clients, and public sector bodies by delivering modules in co-ordination and discipline-specific BIM modelling (architecture, construction, MEP engineering & structural engineering), all underpinned by a Lean Construction philosophy.

September start; 30 ECTS credits; Fee €240

Award-winning (Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2019) programme upskilling undergraduate award holders (or equivalent via Recognition of Prior Learning) across all areas of the AEC sector. Advanced modelling, co-ordination, collaboration, and information management content, underpinned by a Lean Construction philosophy, enable graduates to take up roles in BIM Coordination, Management, and Information Management. This programme is stage 1 of a 3-stage MSc in applied Building Information Modelling & Management.

January start; 30 ECTS credits; Fee €240

This programme teaches data science, analytics, and machine learning techniques at postgraduate level to award holders across all areas of the AEC sector. The need for predictive programming, improved construction productivity, and better use of available resources to improve economic, social, and environmental sustainability in the built environment are all addressed.

September start; 30 ECTS credits; Fee €250

The NZEB Standard requires industry upskilling on an unprecedented scale across the EU. TU Dublin’s Postgraduate Certificate in Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design) is the first stage of the nested Building Performance Masters providing essential upskilling to architects, architectural technologists, surveyors, and engineers at postgraduate level.

All programmes are part-time and are delivered in blended format with approximately 95% virtual delivery (simultaneous and pre-recorded) and 5% face-to-face to enhance student support and engagement, e.g. technology set-up, limited assessment-related activities, etc.

The application deadline for all is Monday, 13 July 2020 (Friday 10th for the Building Performance programme).
