A rapidly expanding Irish company which has grown its reputation as one of Ireland and the UK’s most experienced, professional, innovative and technically proficient surveying firms, has scooped a prestigious accolade at the Irish Construction Industry Awards in the past days for their entry on Tank Scanning.

Murphy Surveys based in Kildare, was shortlisted for three projects in two categories of the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2016 on Thursday, 02 June 2016, and won the Innovation in Construction award.

“The awards are a reflection of the hard work and expertise of the fantastic team at Murphy Surveys in Ireland and the UK, their continuous upskilling and the company’s continual investment in the latest surveying equipment and technology”, according to Ray Murphy, MD.

The winning entry looked at the use of 3D Laser Scanning Technology, as well as the expertise of the Geomatics Surveyor, to assess the dimensional tolerances of steel storage tanks, a revolutionary process developed by Murphy Surveys. The team behind the win are from Murphy Surveys’ Cork hub which is based on the Airport East Business Park and was headed up by Kinsale-born Barry O’Keeffe.

“Murphy Surveys was the first company to use Laser Scanning in Ireland. We have also developed our own in-house 3D surveying and CAD/Revit modelling techniques. As a result, we are widely recognised as one of the most experienced, professional, innovative and technically proficient surveying companies in Ireland and the UK today.”

“It is an honour to get recognised by your industry peers and to have successfully been shortlisted for all three entries and winning this award is something of which we are very proud.

“We recognise that each entry has been the result of a real team effort and we would like to recognise the entire Murphy Surveys team for their hard work in order to make opportunities like this a possibility.
